An overview of agent mobility in heterogeneous environments

چکیده
Mobility is an important feature of some software agents, allowing them to leave their host and continue task execution on another machine in the network. For the mobility to work, however, the network needs to be comprised of interoperable multi-agent systems. Currently, there exists a large number of multi-agent system solutions which, unfortunately, do not satisfy this requirement, due to standards incompliance, different implementation technologies, and so on. This paper provides an overview of existing approaches to solving this problem, and enabling seamless agent mobility in heterogeneous environments.
